What is we fill the fridge?
It’s a program Glen Ridge Fleet is developing that is dedicated to increasing awareness in communities about hunger and our We Fill The Fridge mission. It comes from our hardened belief, no one should go hungry in our society. That together, as a community, we can fill the fridge of our neighbors in need.
How do we do it?
First, for every Glen Ridge Sub Zero refrigerated van and cooler trailer sold, Glen Ridge Fleet will donate $500 to the customers local registered food bank.
Raising hunger awareness
Second, we will raise hunger awareness and drive engagement for food banks through our Social Media Ambassadors. Our We Fill The Fridge SMA’s will carry out the message of our mission through their social networks. Our Social Media Ambassadors volunteer for We Fill The Fridge and are comprised of social media professionals, networked individuals and general do gooders who utilize their online communities to help promote Food Bank activities and events across North America.
SOCIAL MEDIA AMBASSADORS
Social Media Ambassadors are an online community of We Fill The Fridge supporters who mix Food Bank messages into their posts. In turn, your name and profile will be featured on our SMA member page. Any blog posts, tweets, videos and photos will be incorporated into the We Fill The Fridge’s social media and promotional materials. The Social Media Ambassadors are critical to helping us expand community awareness of hunger and our work that children, families & seniors need every day of the year. Think you know hunger in America? Feeding America CEO Claire Babineaux-Fontenot talks about how 37 million struggle with hunger, and how it relates to issues we care about most.
We Fill The Fridge will identify your regional food bank, and tag you in targeted posts relating to your local food bank so that you can engage when you have time. We will provide an online resource center and monthly newsletter email that contains information about our current activities, campaigns, news and also send you invites to our social media groups. Logos, brochures & important details will be outlined. SMA members can pick and choose what they’d like to help promote using their online communities: blogs, websites, twitter, linkedin or facebook.
How often do I mention the WeFillTheFridge? We ask SMA members to follow @WeFillTheFridge on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, and post about your local Food Bank at least once a week. A blog post, a few tweets, or Facebook mentions would be great. Videos and photos are divine – and engaging your workplace, church or neighborhood is a dream come true for us!

How do I qualify? Social Media Ambassadors for the We Fill The Fridge must have at least one online network that is public (not set to private) so that shared We Fill The Fridge content can be seen by everyone. This can be: a blog, Twitter account, LinkedIn, Instagram, or Facebook page. Ambassadors should reside North America and believe in our #WeFillTheFridge mission. Each application is reviewed on a case by case basis.
